Peter Aitken

Peter qualified as a veterinarian in 2003 and has worked full time in the production animal (predominantly dairy) sector since that time. He has worked in a variety of systems in NZ and overseas (UK, Vietnam, Estonia) and has a passion for the Dairy sector and the important role it holds. Through his time spent as a vet working at the back end of cows the importance of what goes in the front end has been reinforced; nutrition and feeding and the vital role this holds to successful enterprise performance in both high producing intensively housed cows and in more extensive pasture based systems. The opportunity to work within the Headlands group fits well with his views in this area and how this relates to farm profitability and sustainability.
